Battle of the Books -

Battle of the books

America's Battle of the Books is a voluntary reading incentive program for students in grades 3-12. The purpose is simply to encourage students to read good books and have fun while competing with peers. The Woodcliff School district participates in a Valley-wide competition, against Montvale, RiverVale & Hillsdale for the 5th-8th grade only. The competition location rotates between all districts yearly. In 2020, we will battle in the George G. White Middle School Media Center, in Hillsdale, NJ.

The Battle of the Books prep is run through our 9th period Enrichment Program. The 5/6 grade group is run by Mrs. Nazdan, at Dorchester, and the 7/8th grade group is run by Mrs. Igel, at WCMS. Mrs. Nowak and Mrs. Gander, the district's media specialists, help organize the competitions. Please reach out to any one of these teachers for any questions regarding the BOB competition.
