Grade 7 STEM builds off of the previous year and the students' understanding of the Engineering Design Process (EDP). In addition to focusing in on engineering design tasks, one of the main areas of focus in grade 7 STEM includes the development of computational thinking. The essence of computational thinking is thinking about data and ideas, and using and combining these resources to solve problems. In grade 7 STEM, students are encouraged to “think computationally” by moving technology projects beyond “using” tools and information toward “creating” tools and solving problems using a mathematic and computational skill set.
Projects will include (but are not limited to) the following:
3D Modeling & Printing
Tabletop Game Building
