This is my tenth year teaching in Woodcliff Lake, and I am very excited begin my seventh year teaching at the middle school! I am looking forward to seeing former students, meeting new students, and continuing our educational journey together.
I have taught as a special education teacher in Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York. I have taught children ages 2-15 in a variety of settings, including in the homes of Bergen County providing Early Intervention, in resource rooms, collaborative classrooms, and in self-contained classrooms. I graduated from Boston College and received a Master’s Degree in Learning Disabilities from the College of New Rochelle. I also have some training in Wilson Reading and Orton Gillingham Instruction, which are systematic, multi-sensory approaches to teaching reading. I am certified in Special Education, Elementary Education, and Middle School Language Arts.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have five children in all, and since we are spread over New Jersey, New York, and Virginia, we treasure the time we can all be together. I also have a two granddaughters, and a grandson is expected later in September.
Some of my interests outside of school are cooking, hiking, exercise and of course READING! I was able to do a good amount of reading this summer, and I enjoyed every minute! I look forward to hearing about your summer activities and any good books you have read. I am also a big animal lover, and share the house with my dog, Brodie, and three cats; Merlyn, Milo and Boots.
As wonderful as my summer was, I am excited to begin this new school year. See you soon!
