I hold a Bachelor of Music degree from Westminster College in PA, and a Master's degree in Educational Technology from Ramapo College. I have done extensive training in the Orff-Schulwerk,Kodaly and Dalcroze approaches to Music Education at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ, the Lucy Moses School in Manhattan, the Longy School of Music in Massachusetts and at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota.
In 2004 I received the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra's Award for Excellence in Teaching, and was named a member of their Master Teachers Collaborative.
A trained contralto, I have done solo work with the Pro Arte Chorale, the Waldwick Band, the Orpheus Men's Chorus and the New Rochelle Opera. My own singing teachers have included Marni Nixon, who was the ghost singer for Natalie Wood in WEST SIDE STORY.
As a teacher of music, I aspire to instill in my students a lifelong love of music. I feel very fortunate to be able to teach in such a wonderful school as Dorchester!
