My name is Linda DeMarco and I graduated from the University of Delaware with a duel Bachelor’s Degree in Regular and Special Education. I also graduated from William Paterson University with a Master's degree in Literacy. Outside of teaching I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids, Connor and Kelsea, reading, knitting, spinning, running, and playing with my cat, Bentley.
I was a fifth grade teacher in Wyckoff for two years before coming to Woodcliff Lake in 2009. This is my fourteenth year teaching at Dorchester! Previously, I have been a part of the both the fourth and fifth grade team as both an in and out of class support teacher in ELA and math. I've also taught third and fifth grade as general education teacher. This year I'm so excited to continue in my role as the ELA and math support and intervention teacher for Dorchester! My experience on both sides of a collaborative team allow me to provide all students with support, techniques, extensions, and reinforcements they need in order to ensure their success as learners within the classroom environment. I also provide students with behavioral and social skills when necessary to help ensure their success. I believe that every student can learn and that it is my role adapt and deliver the curriculum in a manner that will support each and every student to allow success and build self-esteem. Once these core ideals are in place, then I can gradually decrease my role so that a student can gain independence through a positive, supportive setting built on confidence and success.
I’m very excited to be a part of the Dorchester family once again this year, and I know it will be a fabulous year!
